Dinner tonight...you probably haven't had it.

I wonder how long till the kid figures out that hamburger wasn't beef?

Pretty darn good!

There's a local place called Double D Meats. They get all kind of weird stuff... got some Kangaroo from them a while back. They've got snapping turtle coming in soon.
They've almost always got Gator in stock. Boar bacon.... Ostrich, and a few others too.

The Camel? Tasted someone beefy. Pretty good!

They've been there for longer than I've been alive.

Not at all, really. I made horse-roast several months ago. Although it's hard to tell, texture wise, as the camel was ground and the horse was not.

There is/was a wild game market here in the county. I stopped by a couple of times & bought some things. One turn off for me was the lion meat they were selling. Seems to me camel should be OK. A prof I had in college told us when he was a poor student, he'd buy a side (or quarter?) of horse. He'd have it cut up into steaks, roasts, ground up and packaged. He'd invite his friends over for BBQ & get compliments but never told them they were eating horse.

The dogs used to go nuts over a certain brand of dog food (lucky dog sausage ) and my mum was talking to the factory owner at a party. He said the secret ingredient was he bought the racehorses that got old or injured.

In Japan they love horse sashimi. I've yet to try it.
I have had chicken sashimi. Lightly cooked exterior but raw inside. Not my thing. I like raw shrimp though, it's sweet. Raw meat is totally different from cooked.

Oh come on. There are no laws about eating a horse. Just a few places slaughter horses. Not a big demand for horse meat in USA but other countries love it.

Lots of people eat horse meat without knowing it...

I was the UK when the scandal broke: Horsemeat scandal: where did the 29% horse in your Tesco burger come from? | UK news | The Guardian

Tesco is the largest supermarket in the UK. Ikea also got burn in that scandal.

This clip is funny, came out the next day: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=InbJs4n1Z0U

We were talking with friends a week ago and they have eaten at our house several times and the wife said she had never eaten venison (deer season was about to start) and my wife said "Yes you have". Most people aren't picky unless they know what it is.
