Must have missed that, oops. If you have a medium, that'd be awesome! Thanks!

Hope it doesn't eat the squirrel.

Your package just arrived today. If it really has a boa inside, should I feed it something beforehand like a cat or two? :)

Nah, they told me at the pet store the rabbit would hold it for around a week and a half. :)

Not a problem then. If it makes any hungry sounds will just drop a scorpion or three in there for dessert!

Did I tell you guys that he sent me shirt like that? I was so stoked! If you make some boys shirts like that Shaun, I am gonna take pictures in them (my sister is a photographer). Why can't there be mom and son sets too? ;) Tell me when and I will buy a pair. My dad would love it!!! A picture of all of us with Porsches on our chests! And thanks, buckterrier!

And stop with jokes about animals in the mail!!!! (I am sticking my tongue out at all of you!)

Joeaksa 12-17-2012 08:01 PM

Can we all get a photo of the above? :)

'Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the town
Not a person was stirring
Even Pelican was down.

My Dad's 72 Targa was covered with care,
In hopes that other Pelicans would help if they dared.

The transmission was shot, the engine was dead,
And when I lost my job the dollar signs whirled in my head.
No Porsche project was to be, nor the bills to be paid,
And right before the holidays, my dilemma was made.

When out in the parking lot, there arose such a roar,
I rose to my feet to see what it was for.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But Dr. Phil in a Targa, tires squealing, obviously in fifth gear.

With a driver so skilled in a cloud full of dust,
I knew it must be a friend from the Pelican brain trust.
I couldn't help but stare at the beautiful car as he pushed on the gas,
But I had to go inside, I was freezing my ass.
Through the door he came with a crash,
Dragging behind him, his carful of stash.

Now LeeHines! Now Shaun! Now Sidney and Red Beard!
Calling the rest of the Pelican crew, it is just as we feared.
To off topic, to PARF, to Tech,
Calling all Pelicans, please report on deck.

Oh how quickly they worked! Oh how the PMs flew!
They already had in mind what they wanted to do.
They collected money and gathered up toys,
All while thinking of Thuy's little boys.

And here stood Joe, with a grin on his face,
Unloading presents like it was a race.
Lee Hines was his aide, helping with presents galore,
I couldn't even believe there was to be more.

As I stood there with my mouth hanging open,
I couldn't even say the two words, that should have been spoken.
And when they were finished,
All of my worries were nearly if not completely diminished.

As I dabbed my tearful eye and watched Lee and Joe pull out of sight,
God Bless all the Pelicans and all a good night!

Merry Christmas, fellas and gals! Words cannot express the gratitude and amazement I have for you guys. The presents and gift cards were beyond enough, but the Paypal account? I am sitting here shaking my head because you guys will truly never know how much this meant to me and the boys. You guys keep saying pay it forward, and believe me, I will. To be on the receiving end, I know personally now how much it can affect a person.

Merry Christmas everybody! Truly can say this is a unique group of people and glad to say I am a part of it! Love and happiness...

Merry Christmas Tweeze! And to all y'all the best wishes of the season.

Mericet 12-24-2012 08:14 AM

Merry Christmas to you and the boys Tweeze! The little I helped with was a "pay it forward" to my family for bringing me to South Africa this year for our first Christmas together in 16 years. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

Glad you asked! Joe and I told Thuy about this and I forgot to look it up!

Tweeze, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your boys.

Joeaksa 12-24-2012 09:33 AM

Glad to help Miss Thuy!

For those not in the loop, I just sent a slug of funds over to her via pay-pal on Saturday evening. As she will not have any real income for a while until after being at work for a bit will have at least one and possibly two more like this in the future.

Also we need to get together on Thursday or Friday as I still have at least two more boxes of presents for you...

Merry Christmas everyone!

red-beard 12-24-2012 09:41 AM

I'm glad to have started this little (or not so little) mess. I was truely only thinking of your boys and and way to let you concentrate on paying the bills and finding a new job. I never in my wildest dreams thought the community would come together as much as they did. I had hoped we might get 10 guys to send $20 gifts for the boys. At last count, over 60 Pelicans contributed, one way or another.

Merry Christmas to you Tweeze! But Merry Christmas to everyone who came together for you! Communities stick together.

And if you need transmission work on the 911, we might be able to help on that too!

James - aka Red-beard

Joeaksa 12-24-2012 09:43 AM

James,

Actually we are plotting a bit to try and get the 911 sitting in her Mothers garage moved over to Thuy's house, so you never know what might happen in that area! :)

I have not met anyone on this board personally, but I look forward to it someday. A great bunch of people. And Tweeze, I am happy you found a new position. I think you were the only one who thought it would be a problem. You have what I call "spunk". Spunk makes things happen. People that make things happen are valuable. And they get hired quickly. Good for you.
