Anybody in need for a cute, smart, and sassy Asian nurse?
OK, all of you get your heads out of the gutter. My turn to start my own "lost my job" thread. The start up I worked for closed its doors.
My ex husband is unemployed as well so this just keeps getting better. Story sound familiar? He lost his job last week. Funny thing is about a month ago, recruiters were calling me left and right. Now it's time to contact them again. But really, anybody have any contacts with anybody in the medical device world? MBA/RN with sales, education, management experience. ![]() I need somebody to cheer me up with a spin in their P-car. ![]() |

I've already done the traveling nurse thing... problem is I have a house now and two young boys. Can't uproot for a 3 or 6 month contract. If worse comes to worse, I can always sign a 3 month contract with a hospital where I live. But thanks for the suggestion!

Hey Tweez, sorry to hear about your set back and situation.
Time to look into that apprentice wrench job at the nearby indy Porsche shop. I have a feeling that you could do well with the customer contact part. Hang in there Girl! Richard |

Sure, hop in the Speedster if you dare (it's about 38 degrees out - wind chill in the Speedster must be about 50 below).
It's seems like you should be in great demand (and not just for the cute sassy Asian part). But you have roots. It might be a challenge finding the right job without relocating, but I'm sure you will - and soon!

I presume from our post you do not want to relocate...
However Kaiser seems to be growing (do they have Kaiser near you?) And I know you were here about a year ago... did you make any contacts then? (Other than Brando ![]() Hey, I know some of the waitresses at hooters, maybe they could find you a job!

Have you considered doing hospice work? A friend of mine does and it's in high demand right now - they need good people badly. Downside as I understand is it's (obviously) depressing and a lot of travel - I can get you more info if you need but you may know a lot about it already being in the profession.
Best to you - I suspect you'll have something else lined up before too long.

My sister has the same credential you do. She got out of management due to the BS within her hospital. She had been a CCU nurse for more then 10 years. Around here, if you have solid experience, you should have no issue getting work according to her. That county job she was hoping for is real hard to come by. She was able to find work within two weeks. Hang in there. Come out to CA, you should be alright but you must deal with the rat race. PLus, the waves are a little better then AZ.

Sorry for your job loss. Sucks this close to the holidays. I know the CEO of Masimo in Irvine, they're pretty big and still growing. Don't know if that's the kind of gig you're looking for.

![]() Thanks everybody for the words of encouragement. I just need help getting through this first week. Never have been in this situation before. I have worked constantly since I was 13. ![]() And no severance. The company had no money. Don't think I will ever work for a start up again... It was risky so I guess I asked for it. |

Sorry to hear Tweeze. It sounds like lots of small biz are closing their doors as of late. As others have said, you gots the skills and are in high demand. I know CA is not the best place to relocate to, but there is a fair amount of medical growth going on here. 2 hospitals I know of just opened their doors in the last year nearby (OC). One is mostly out-patient and docs offices, but still decent demand for skilled RNs and the like.
Best of luck to you!

Are you looking to relocate? What specific areas of practice are you targeting? I have a few pharma industry contacts and depending on fit, might be able to connect you with some of them.
A ride in the '72 is yours any time.
