My boss threatened to install a camera in our work area because two idiots couldn't get along at shift exchange (6 minutes). One of the idiots called the union, but my boss already had his ducks in line with HR & nothing could be done about it. Things cooled down & now the budget is shot. I would have gladly accepted the camera if it got rid of at least one of the idiots, they have torpedoed our work group & now our positions are in jeopardy.

I work very well through distractions, like noise, inerruptions, etc. But someone standing there and watching me work actually pisses me off. It's not that I mind if they watch me, the problem is that I'm usually up to my neck in problems to solve and THIS person has absolutely nothing to do but WATCH me? GAHHHH!!!!!

I work on a trading desk so I'm usually involved in several different situations at the same time with all kinds of noise around me. But someone standing over me watching is a different animal. I usually turn around and ask them to help knowing that is the last thing they want to do.

People some times say to me, "I hope you don't mind it I watch."

To which I reply, "I would if I didn't know what I was doing. But since you don't know what I'm doing, go ahead."
