Watch battery question

My wife has a bunch of cheap watches that she wears periodically (one at a time), sort of costume stuff. Three of them have different batteries but the batteries are all energizer, all 1.5 volt, silver oxide and all the same size. Seems to me they would be interchangeable. ARE THEY INTERCHANGEABLE?

Because I've taken all three out of the watches to be replaced and now can't remember which went where. I haven't gotten the new batteries yet but would like to just get three of the same and not have to hunt for the three individual model numbers.

Actually, I'd like to throw out all three watches and that would solve one problem but create another.

There are about 3 o 4 common watch batteries, the size is different so each slot pretty much defines the battery to use.
On the other hand just put them on and if the watch dies so be it.. this is your opportunity to get her xmas present and possibly get some lovin' points. ;-)

1.55V silver oxide batteries of the same width/diameter are interchangeable. Each brand uses their own code numbers, as well as codes to determine the date when the battery was manufactured.

Using the chart p[osted see if all of the batteries you have are in fact the same, if not,
I would suggest to put on your glasses, and look carefully at the batteries
if the battery has a different number it will also be sized differently,
ref the chart to cross check different MFGs

I have a bunch of battery operated watches and,
i make a list of each one and the battery # that came out of it.
of course every watch I have,
has a different sized battery

No, identical batteries from different vendors will have different numbers. Often times you'll see the diameter of the battery printed in the battery well. What it won't tell you is the thickness.
