I'll be the dissenting voice and say no to Porsche. Too obvious. Trying way too hard. (And then you're gonna have to correct all the morons out there who are going to call your daughter "Porsch.") If you're going to do it, then go with Portia. Sounds the same, but doesn't have the obnoxious spelling.

I wanted to name our dog Portia. We already had a grey German car named Porsche. Might as well name our grey German dog Portia.

Austin Cooper, get the AC Bristol and could call him Cooper. I don't think Austin Cam works as well.

Maybe Kirkham, then you would have to get one.

Mercedes is another girls name for you. The real Mercedes is said with a Portuguese accent.

As much fun as it is to think up cool car names for your kid, I'd advise against it.

It's your kid, not a pet.

He or she will have to live with this name... and spell it... and/or explain it...

...for the rest of his/her life.

Think about it.

Plus, your name is already "automotive-related."

That's enough. Really.

Something simple. Maybe make it sound cool *with* Bristol.

Before I saw what your first name is, I was gonna suggest "Kurt" for a boy... but that's too close phonetically. BTW, when I saw "Kirk," the first thing I thought was, "Your mom and dad had good taste."

Kirk Bristol... I mean... how cool is that?

If it's a boy, name him Jack and be done with it. Pick a middle name from somewhere back in your family or your wife's... like a grandmother's maiden name... and make it sound cool with Jack and Bristol.

For a girl... I dunno... Anna... Janet... Katherine (Kat)... Lauren... just don't make it hard to spell.

Remember, he/she has to live with it a lonnnnnnng time.

Great thread. I got some good chuckles out of reading the replies.

Robin (Reliant Robin)
Loren (DeLorean)
Gina (Ginetta)
Hayley (Healy)

As others have said, the strippers own the Porsche and Carrera names. I would not hold back with Mercedes if it would go with a latin last name, but certainly not with Bristol.

I do like Morgan a lot as well. I'd go with that. I would throw in a non-car middle name to not overdo it.

Keep us posted on the gender and final selection. I sure hope I am spared from further offspring and name selection. It is tough enough with a dog! That said, I had a gearhead buddy who called his dog CAM - so that's taken in my mind.
