I'm a Ford man, but they look good. Clean lines. No styling gimmicks.

My 2007 Silverado crew cab has been a great truck, and although this LOOKS nice, I refuse to buy another GM product.

Looks pretty much the same to me. That said, they make the best looking, most desirable trucks by a country mile, IMO.

I'll just answer frankly: If I listed my reasons, this thread would get moved to PARF. I own quite a few classic GMs but will never again buy a new one.

Our 2012 F150 Supercrew is massive inside. I can adjust my seat in front, then go sit behind it and still easily have 16" between my knees and the seatbacks. I'm 6'1" 220 or so, I'm not a little guy. It's our family car, we put in a bedrug and fiberglass tonneau cover. Now we have spacious seating for six inside and a huge trunk that I don't feel bad about getting dirty with lumber, landscape blocks, etc. I love the Tacos too, but when you consider that this still get 19 MPG on the highway (21 with the Ecoboost) it's hard to justify going smaller. My only complaint is that it's so damn big to drive, but with three kids I'm going to be stuck in something big regardless.

Kind of disappointed in the styling. Same old thing. I am a Chevy guy but Chrysler and Ford have kicked their butt on the styling issue IMHO. Also, where is the 4.5L diesel that they were working on? I guess I will keep my 2000 and spend some money on it instead of a new one.

i never really understood the need to separate GMC and Chevrolet.

it all boils down to trim packages, right? i think the GMC looks better.

They shelved the 4.5L V6 diesel -- it was 100% done -- when research showed here wasn't a large enough market to make it worthwhile. If market conditions change, it wouldn't take long to bring it back.

No doubt GM took it conservatively with styling. I guess the consequences of getting it wrong are pretty high when you sell a million of them each year, plus the spin-off SUVs. It will be interesting to see how the public reacts.

The interior, however, is a big leap.

It's also interesting that GM decided NOT to follow Ford's EcBoost turbo V6. The all-new 4.3L V6 is 2/3rds of the new Gen 5 small block V8. It's rumored to be in the neighborhood of 260-270 horsepower and better fuel economy than the EcoBoost. It's certainly simpler and less expensive. I can't imagine that it can compete with the torque curve of the EcoBoost.

The all-new 5.3L is rumored to be 375hp and 400lb-ft, while the Corvette-based L86 6.2L will be 425hp and 450lb-ft with a very broad torque curve, particularly at low rpm.

It'll be interesting to hear all the specs when they're officially announced

I would think that a V-6 would be 3/4th of a V-8, not 2/3rds. Either way, trucks are getting better.
