When it comes to low flow gravity flush or split flush TOTO is the choice.
Why yes, I am a plumber. |

You guys know which toilets are the right ones?
Where do you guys come up with this stuff? LOL |
Went through multiple Am.Standard toilets.... Found this site and swapped to Totos about 6 years ago: Terry Love's Consumer toilet reports, a report and reviews on toilets
We have never used a plunger with a Toto. |
Ha. The same site where I learned about Toto. When I was looking I searched for one flush toilets. The Toto Drake that we have is truly a one flush (even though it's a two piece). The Room Monkey has clogged every toilet we have ever had - but not this one.

thanks to Dad911..i am reminded that my TOTO is the Clayton model.
haha..speaking of which..i shouldnt have eaten that second bran muffin. oh-o! |
not all TOTO is supposedly great. the salesman refused to sell me a toto sink faucet that i thought looked great. he said there were lots of issues.

informative site for sure, but really understaing the "like" on FB part LOL. I'd catch crap (no pun intended) for blogging about that. rjp |
randy..all these years, and i still get creeped out from your avatar..ahhahaha
thanks Look..so two piece toilets will eventually leak? no big deal. seems like an easy seal to change. my MIL got some American Standard. i think the tank needs to come off to change the flush mechanism. it has a flapper like none i have ever seen. perplexing..it is like 4" in diameter. |

When I moved into this house 7 years ago there were expensive, fancy looking low head toilets that were totally worthless. Three flushes wouldn't get it done. I installed two Gerber Ultra-flush (one of Terry Love's favorites) for about $300 ea and it is the best upgrade I have done to the house. They will flush a 10lb poodle on the first try (don't ask) and because they are pressure assist the high velocity flush cleans the bowl well. The down side is they sound like a high velocity commercial toilet so they do make more noise. To me the excellent 1.6g flush and rinse is totally worth it.
I cannot compare these to a Toto because I have not owned one but 7 years without a second flush, clog, or repair of any kind is pretty good service. |
