Thumbs down Harbor Freight Tools....or just me??

OMG... I know they have some decent deals on (cheap tools) ..but when you go to return something or it's special...their Cust Svc process is just HORRIBLE !!! As well, have had NO LUCK with anything that is of a "precision" nature or has "too many moving" parts!!

Does anyone else experience this,,,, or is it just my bad luck??

That was great! I buy stuff from H.F. on a selective basis. Sometimes their stuff is just as good as anyone else's. For sure if I need a hunk of iron or steel, I get it there.

I shop HF for tools that need to get modified to get a job done (special home-bent wrenches and the like) or things that will get single use. It's not worth it otherwise (except for their consumable items).

It this part fails, will it send me to the hospital?

If yes: do not buy at HF
If no: take the chance.

Very funny!
I like all hardware stores, including HF.
Lower the expectations & all will be fine.

I love the Muppet grade felt work gloves!

The store is too far away from me to be convenient. The one time I went in there the smell was bad and weird.

There is a local owned store that has the stupid cheap Chinese tools, the one step above that India - Pakistan tools and the high quality name brand stuff. I can pick which level I want to buy. I go there.

It always has been garbage.

Only thing I buy is steel items. I have a cherry picker and a bike rack. The bike rack is junk. The cherry picker has been good - but it is probably made in the same Chinese factory as all other cherry pickers in the world.

I don't shop there.

i thought i would buy my impact sockets from HF. you guys know what i mean when i say they make a weird noise when you tap them together. they ring!! ding!! like a bell.

you know how an air impact makes that rapid, "dok dok dok!" sound? well with my very first 19mm attempt on my truck lugs..it was "dok"..one single dok, and it splintered. i took it back and got my $9 bucks back

i then went all high brow with the Craftsman set..$40, maybe. much much better.

Good for disposable tools or things you may only use once a year (and make sure if failure is a possibility that would mean lose of life or limb then do not buy!).

Although I will say, I bought a drill press for $30 and i will be jiggered if that darn thing ain't worth every penny!

Some of their stuff is crap, but I love this ratchet of theirs:
3/8" Heavy Duty Flexible Ratchet
It's pretty much the only 3/8" ratchet I use anymore.

I had no issues when returning their POS leakdown tester (which happens to be the same chinese crap sold all over the web).

Yes you do have to watch closely at what you buy and how it's going to be used. I got the pneumatic flooring nailer for a fraction of what they wanted at the home depot, lowes type store and forget about the rental one. So I took a chance on the nailer and 1100 sq ft of 3/4" solid brazilian cherry later, it still works like new.

At least the hand tools have a lifetime warranty. I've had to return a few broken tools soon after buying them and it was never an issue. However I'd rather buy used Snap-On or similar for tools I use a lot.

Hummm, I have never broken a HF tool since the first store opened here many years ago. I still have the first set of impact sockets I bought in 1995 or something. I have run them wiht an air wrench with a torque multiplier so I can get axle nuts off? I had one of their combo sheet metal shear/brakes and actually sold it for more than I paid for it? The winch in the race car trailer worked great for the 7 years I owned it?

I did load my 1 inch breaker bar to my neighbor and he broke it after turning the axle nut the wrong way on his pos Dodge with 3 fat guys on a 4 foot iron pipe breaker bar that also bent badly. They gave him a replacement and I used the impact wrench and had it off in 10 seconds.

Maybe I am just lucky??????
