I'd hose the interior of all cyls. with Kroil or something, wait a few days, then carefully try to turn the engine by hand. You will want to replace all the rubber brake hoses as well as the tires. Any rubber bushings in the suspension and brake cyl. seals need to be redone also. Once you get the braking and suspension + tires up to snuff, you can drive it safely. After that, it is all just $$, time & sweat to make it a nice fun car. |

Hey, nice to have you on board!
This is a great board and Pelican is a great place for parts. Stay out of PARF though, thar be dragons.

"I can still kick myself for passing on a 63 Cab for $12K about 10 years ago...
I paid $2,250 for it (in 1970) I belonged to some relative of (Colonel Fletcher = "Fletcher Parkway" in San Diego. hE painted it Apollo Blue. I live in San Diego north county, lived here all my life. Born next door to Oceanside Harbor. BTW, I've had a # of porsches, but this one is the only one I've ever seen with a (6v) electric tach. (2 wires, connect to both sides of dist coil) It was 'squirrily' some of the time, can it be fixed or tuned up?? The car has the cable for a mechanical tach, but hasnt rotated at least since 1970 when I got it. -corne- |

Welcome! And sigh. Your car is beautiful. I love the 356. More pictures please. I don't even have a Porsche. I come here to be a poser and gawk at the beautiful cars that people own here. One day. The people here are really nice even though some may try to convince you otherwise. You will make friends for life here.

Welcome Corn. As Tweeze and others have said a great group here, (mostly). You should document your resurrection on the tech forum. With a billion pics of course!

Welcome. Nice car!
I had one almost identical to it in about 1975 and I think a cab with the removable hardtop is the best of all 356 body styles. I've rebuilt half a dozen 356s but it was in the '70s and the landscape has changed since then, but I'll give you any help I can.
