What we need a index of all of the VINs of the flood and hurricane-damaged cars; I'm sure a lot of those titles are going to get 'washed' through other states.

Copart.com or you can contact any insurance company and ask about their salvage policy or more specifically where they send their slavage cars.

UncleRay, can you tell us how to determine Sandy cars on crankyape? (BTW, there is a '89 speedster on that site, bidding was only 13,xxx a minute ago.)

Sounds like a great way to pick up a project/track car for decent money.

Our shop has a dealer license and belongs to copart, but I figured this was going to be some big event or such from a local jurisdiction. Its been a few years since ive done a salvage title car and i know the laws have changed, (again). But ill look into it tomorrow.

I have read there are 250,000 totalled cars from this storm including 20K new cars from the port of Newark.
I have accounts with Copart and IAAI and they are flooded (ha ha) Most are salt water floods
pretty ugly for a modern car

Worst yet are all of the salvage parts from the rebuilders / yards. Trans., diffs are one thing but all those little components like window reg's, electronic controllers, etc. are already funneling to the end user. Good luck and caveat from ebay too.

GWN7 puts you on the right track. Click on the "Bid Now/More info" for more details. The flood disclosure then shows up and some of the needed repairs. Ray

SC's and 3.2 flood cars are bringing $7k++ all day long on Copart. Not many steals from what I see.
