Wow... That boy has had some lessons.
You see, even in our old age (as bass players) we fit in.
We are not up front. We can be in our sixties and nobody cares because they are
focusing on the guitar player, singer, harmonica player etc.
I thought this out about 50 years ago.

Hey, happy birthday! There are some here who would love to trade with you - me included. I guess the start of SS is one sort of mile stone. I'm having to start taking the AMD on my IRA this year - another mile stone I guess. Hope you enjoy happiness & good health for a long time.

Happy Birthday!
On the more practical side, think of all the senior discounts you can now get. Most start at 62.
For me the train to NYC is more than 1/2 off anytime any day! Awesome!
A lot of hotels give Senior discounts as do restaurants although I just refuse to show up at 5:30 for dinner.
Movies are $1.00 off most of the time.
Dunkin Donuts, 10% off.

.........and many more
Go discover your own!
Have some fun.

Me too, same age..

?????? why take SS now? Don't you get dinged with some sort of discount to it? Git a buddy who says 65 is the right time to begin accepting it.

I would love to hear your thoughts.

The difference between taking it now at 62 and waiting until 65 is nominal. I retired at age 55 so I haven't paid into it in years. The difference was like $150.00 a month. I'm getting mine now before they make any more changes. I'll be grandfathered in. My pension has kept the boat floatin those in between years, this is a bonus.
