Wayne:
When we had cats when I was much younger, we did this trick:
If the cat peed where he wasn't supposed to, we'd take the cat and stick his nose in his urine, and then put him in the litter box.

After a while, our cats caught on. Yeah, it's a little mean, but he got the picture real quick: I suppose humans aren't the only ones that think cat urine smells bad...

I've heard a toy water gun can also help, plus it's a little more humane than chucking fluffy into the shower. (But I think the shower bid is hilarious!!!)

Good luck!
-Z.

My wife and I work with Golden Retriever rescue, and sometimes have foster dogs stay with us. We have had as many as 5. 2 dogs is actually a little easier than one, because they keep each other entertained, and to a lesser extent, exercised.

how can anyone not love this face?

My suggestion:

Go to a cat rescue place or a pet shop. Find a cat that looks the same as your troubled one.
Get that cat. Lose the original one. When the wife says the cat looks funny, act like she's crazy.

(Of course, I'm a dog person. )

This morning he laid down a nice puddle not 3" from the 2nd litter box that we put down for him (right next to the other one). He even kicked off my drop-cloth plastic and peed underneath it.

If my wife wasn't in the shower at the time, he would have been!

Any suggestions?

-Wayne

Any suggestions huh? Your 'id' over to the left includes:
Redondo Beach.
Wayne, walk the cat over the beach to the ocean.
Wayne, you then walk home.

Problem solved!
