Zero dark 30
Really enjoyed that movie, saw it last week. Decided to watch Black Hawk down, a movie I'd never seen. Remembered it well from the papers and news reports and just never got around to. A terrific movie about a horrific event. What people go through in wars, usually trying to help and putting their lives on the line. I remembered Durant and how he made it back and what a class act he was while trying not to be heroic. Great story.

I read 'No Easy Day" by Matt Bissinnette". The women he describes in the book is Jan. A real person. He tells it like it really went down.
I have not seen the movie but it focuses on the women Matt admires and promotes in his book. I will see the movie and probably enjoy it. Read the book first. It is the real deal with being a Navy SEAL and getting chosen for the op. It really is discusting that the media and such went after him when the book came out. HaHa... the White house and the sorry ass hollywood liberals shot this movie right at us. Anyway... go see it and enjoy your night out. |

Saw it tonight and really enjoyed it. Good movie and seemed realistic, not Hollywood overdone. Definitely recommended, even my wife liked it.

Saw it tonight. Good flick, but it seemed to take forever in the house getting into and looking for UBL (but a five minute scene wouldn't be as dramatic.

I actually thought it seemed more realistic during the house clearing scene. I'm no soldier, but I can't believe that clearing a large compound is a quick flurry of action like in most movies.

We have a copy of it here at Kandahar. I was really enjoying it up until the house clearing part. That's when the jokes and comments started.
