Got a hankering for GOOD, thick beef Jerky with a fire to it. Anyone know a good mail order source?

Just make it. Dead easy. A fraction of the cost.

This place has the best jerky in the world, bar none. I have no affiliation but if you mail order from them and are disappointed I will personally retrieve your order and walk it all the way back to Greg for a full refund. People all over the country order from here. Don't let anyone else know; I like having easy access to the best cured meat in the world.

Somewhere along the line jerky stopped being jerky and started being cured steak. I guess what I mean by that was I recall jerky being very dry and these days it's all slimy, wet and anything but dried beef.

I buy a bunch then put it on a cookie sheet in the oven at 180 degrees or so for several hours to finish the deal. Only then is it what I consider jerky. I also add flavoring but I do it more to further dry it out.

I imagine manufacturers stopped drying it so far to reduce energy costs.

In fact I had just put a batch in the oven 10 mins ago

When the hankerin' hits me, I head to Costco for their variety of offerings.
They used to sell Pacific Gold. Yum! Turkey jerky, too. Not so salty.
Most these days are a bit too sweet & moist, though.
lendaddy's got the idea.

Pacific Gold Peppered Beef Jerky available at Costco is pretty good IMHO.

I only buy it for backpacking, not for regular snacking. Too much of any beef jerky and you get gas smelling of dog farts!

Hard to beat this stuff made not far from my hometown... Extremely good jerky, from an old fashioned BBQ place...

I usually make my own, but this stuff reminds me of the jerky I used to get as a kid.

You can get it at Smart and Final or order online here...

We used to stop in Bishop on the way to Mammoth, north end of town, get jerky and pine nuts. I loved this place, I think this is the link.

Best local around here is Green Valley Meats for jerky, for pepperoni I go with Olson's meats, they are always winning competitions....About Green Valley Meats | Green Valley Meats and Mini-Market I can highly recommend the "myassisonfire" thick cut jerky.

Call them and they will ship.
