WWII Aviation Photos

Gents and Ladies, do not click on the below link unless you have some time to gaze.

The photos speak for themselves. I don't know if the link has been posted before, but even so, it is worth a second, loving, look.

Jeez Paul, you got that right!
I was just flicking around the forum before heading off to bed and made the mistake of following your link. Great pics, thanks for posting the link, but I don't think SHE is going to be happy when I try and sneak into bed now.

This is so timely for me. Tomorrow I head to Florida to see my Dad, who flew Wildcats (carrier based) and Corsairs (land based) during WWII. He's now 91 and having some serious health issues and he will be thrilled to see these pictures. Thanks for posting the link!

Wow, wonderful pics of guys willing to give so much. The pic above of the B-26 gives you a sense of how vulnerable they were.

very nice..
saw a special o Naval Aviation last night (PBS)..
like the very first carrier landing..
the arresting cable in those days was..
two rows of sandbags along the side..
with cables between them..
he nailed it on the first pass..

I know he knows, but thank him for all of us.

My Step Father in law did three years in the Pacific on a PT Boat...after he dropped out of flight school in Great Lakes!

He will be 90 in a few months. He is as cool as a two run homer..

Travel safe.

Love the Corsairs... Most off those pictures (some have the logo) first appeared in "LIFE" magazine during the war.

Great photos.....Thanks for posting!

My Dad flew a TBF Avenger in WWII and I have his locker with his uniform, goggles, medals, log book and a bunch of other things from the war.

I wish he was still here.

Your Dad might like some of these: 7th Fighter Command Association Web Page
but the pictures of the Marine cemetery get me every time.
