So I Was Watching the Rolex Daytona 24 Hours Race

Over this past weekend, I was watching the Rolex 24 Hour race and noticed something...

Throughout the different Classes, regardless of what's happening the annoucers will call out a manufacturer's name when a particular car has done something...
Ford, BMW, Porsche, Ferrari, Audi, etc but when it comes to Chevrolet they just call it the Corvette. Even the car themselves have the manufacturers name on the car, except for Chevrolet. They display Corvette.

Anyone know why?
I know if kind of a dumb question, but I was just curious.

Some fast chebbie's there. The Corvette was based on a production chassis but the Camaro was a tube frame.

This says the chassis is built by Chevy (doubt it)....

Corvette Daytona Prototype - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This says....

2012 Chevrolet Corvette Daytona Prototype unveiled

"The 2012 Corvette Daytona Prototype was developed by a multifaceted effort involving Chevrolet, Corvette designers, Pratt & Miller and Grand-Am. Chevrolet also worked closely with chassis builders Riley, Coyote and Dallara," said Mark Kent, General Motors Racing Director, in a statement.

I noticed that in all classes.
Even if you see an actual Vette out there it will say Corvette and not Chevorlet.

Not rich by a long shot, but I have...Full leg cast (b-ball injury) so I traded my Supra Turbo for a g/f's automatic 'vette. Nearly killed myself several times attempting to merge between a qtr mile gap of Interstate traffic...intense ANGER I must admit
