Back from NAMM. What a craptastic week!
I suppose I should say "What a craptastic two weeks" actually...
It started with us loosing my mother on the 15th. She lost her battle with liver cancer. ![]() With NAMM quickly approaching, I hadn't had much time to think about that.. We left on the 19th. The GF forgot her wallet at home. She had to go back, but not enough time to make the flight... We rebooked our flights for later that night. Arrived very late, around midnight. wooo. ![]() Disney and Universal Studios for three days...those went OK. We forgot Monday was a holiday. Disney packed. ![]() On Thursday, she went to visit her aunt and have lunch at Marie Calendars... And got horribly ill for the rest of the trip... I think she was only at the show for one day... we think food poisoning... Long-time friend and another student of my Mentor was unable to make the show, but we were able to make a dinner connection...that was good.. Then, we got informed by my assembly guy that our dog, who was left in his care, had been injured...limping out of nowhere...one minute fine, next minute BAM, after going down steep stairs... Assembly guy took her to the vet.. $360... Vet takes X-rays. Broken Leg! Will run $3500-4000 to pin and screw the leg together...GF rebooks her return flight to come home early and take the dog to her own vet.. Vet says high probability of amputating the leg, due to location of break and tiny bones... I suspect the break may have been coming... she would frequently yelp for no apparent reason. When she runs up our stairs, she's extremely spastic about it, knocking and tripping over herself to get to "mommy" as fast as doggily possible... I think she'd been whacking that leg against the stair edges. Stupid spastic Chihuahua ![]() She goes into surgery tomorrow... GF wants them to try to save the leg... I wonder, what happenes if they attempt it.. and end up having to amputate anyways... don't want to pay for a failed surgery attempt!

Sorry for all your troubles, Wolfe.
![]() I really have to thank you once again for extending a pass for the event. I really wanted to make it 3 of the 4 days, but once again, that didn't happen. Maybe a 3rd time will be the charm??? I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to grab dinner. I may have also stumbled upon a little speaker deal as well. We'll have to see. ![]() I hope the above cheers you up, if even the tiniest bit. Wishing you the best!

![]() It's been rough, but at least the NAMM crunch kept my mind off the immediate stuff... it'll creep in at some point though. Speaker deal? We'll do it again next year, I'm sure. ![]() I told the GF that if they wind up taking the leg, I could make her a bone necklace...

Haha! Yeah, "iFail".
It'd be a lot easier if I could find a place (floor, bathtub) to crash for a night. ![]() I was talking with a guy from Canada on Saturday night and he offered up some speakers from Eminence.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, Wolf. It was great to see you, Dave, Todd & his wife at NAMM. Rick didn't wander by - or I just might have been away from the booth at the time.
My random NAMM . . . The badge my compatriots decided I should wear . . . ![]() An essential part of our booth was left at the GES warehouse in Vegas, so I made a quick trip to rescue it. A SW flight LAX to Vegas, a Ford Escape rental & a 4 hour drive got it to NAMM. Also faster & cheaper than FEDEX . . . Hertz had set a maximum speed on the Ford Escape. I looked at this from Vegas to LA . . . ![]() ![]() Our booth . . . ![]() ![]() We had a visitor to our booth. ![]() Stevie requested a pair of our SM9s to try in his studio. At the Doubletree . . . ![]() ![]() Last morning . . . ![]() ![]() Dave: I was wrong . . . that artist we followed in from the smoking area (the best celeb viewing spot btw) was Orianthi - MJ's guitarist. Here you go Sammy. Full resolution crop. I shot it through the glass from room 1112 of the Doubletree at 7:15 AM local time Monday.
![]() Re: Orianthi I saw her 3 times. At the TEC awards Friday night as a presenter. Exiting the CC with 2 beefy security guys & returning minutes later with Tal Wikenfeld. And the time with Dave with her guitar (and the dudes). I swear she was starting to give me looks like I was a creepy old man stalker or something . . . Ian

That is brilliant!
Our funniest moment came when we went over to Behringer with our Focal CMS65 to see their cheap plastic Chinese copy of it. ![]() ![]() The booth guys thought we were going to make a scene. The designer (yes, I know WHO YOU ARE, Keith) even put foam in the 'handle' part on the back like ours. Focal puts it in there because it can't be painted effectively & the Behringer guys admitted that they wondered why it was there & thanked us for the explanation . . . . but a plastic heat sink?????
