I had an '82 928 as a daily driver for 10 years. Loved that car. Put 50,000 miles on it. Drove it through torrential rain, searing heat, and light snow. Failed to start once - fuel pump relay. Stopped on the highway once - delaminated tire. My personal opinion is a 928 is better behaved as a daily driver than an ocasional sunny day queen. Ultimately I sold it as I did not see the parts support that the 911 has and worried one day something mission critical would wear out or fail and there be no replacement. If money were no object I would have a '95 GTS in midnight blue and ox-blood interior with a Cayenne S V8 and 7 Speed transmission but money always is, so I would go for the 996TT.

Well, a nice 928 is a great road car, the real trick is to find one that has been properly maintained, but it can be done, they are out there, plus, they are still distinctly a Porsche..
