I try not to collect things. At my stage of life I want less (things) other than more.

I'm 48 and I'm starting to think this way.

I don't want to leave my kids collectables... Just some real estate and money.

The trouble with collectables is they may take it all to the dump :eek:

Bingo! The more stuff you have, the more stuff you must care for. Choose your stuff carefully.

Perfect... 24 degrees Celsius. Although that's not normal for this time of year.

Bill Douglas 02-01-2013 11:10 PM

Ha, about the same as us guys. I thought you would be about 40.

Not so much of a "collector" of anything but rather a borderline pack rat.
When I went to move out of CA in '08 after living in the same house for 22 yrs., I didn't want to ship/store all 15 motorcycles so I sold 10 of them in less than 12 days. Sad times. :(

I collect;
Scotch
Excellence magazines
Engineering textbooks
Cars, have 6
Bicycles

My wife collects;
Breyer model horses
Old books over 100 years
Irish art
Family history
Knowledge

Some of my collecting is intentional, such as the Scotch, and some of the collecting is due to having a hard time parting with sentimental objects which stems back from when my mommy threw out my favorite crocodile stuffed animal.

Speedy:)

Todd McFarlane Spawn characters

Superman 02-02-2013 09:14 AM

I've been collecting bass guitar stuff these past few months. It's not so much a hobby as it is a sickness.

I collect art and have a unique collection of fuzzy / out of focus cell phone pictures. My favorite subjects are (in no particular order) cats, bmx bike related content, and random crappy bar shots. There is a guy in Florida that is an absolute GENIUS with a Nokia flip phone.

Bills.

Trouble.

First-edition hardback contemporary fiction.

Lanterns.

Guitars and banjos.
