Hello.
Tonight I wish to go outside and look through my 14"Meade sct gps. Am I bragging, yes!
I asked my bud to come over though he had other things to do he helped me bring it outside.
This thing weighs 170 pounds. I have a table set up for my computer and ccd.
It is an unusual clear night and the wind is negligent.
We went over to this persons house and I asked him to-please-turn off his spot lights. I told him why and he told me to Foff.

RETRIBUTION!!

The problem with living in the city Mike is that we all have our share of a^^hats.
On one side of us we have near perfect neighbors(I don't pretend to be perfect though) and the other side well they are "woe is me". Living on an acreage you have to drive so far for everything.

If those yard lights are preventing you from enjoying your property you might have a legal leg to stand on...shooting their lights out apparently is not an option here.
The neighbors last year swore at my wife . We went and filed a complaint with the police. I hear you....

Lots of astronomers build a blind to put up to block out that sort of thing. You might want to search for options over on the cloudy nights forums.

I've used city light filters with some success. But dunno how they'd work with photography.
