				awake but can't move

A couple of days ago, I got to a client's home about 30 minutes early. I decided to get some shut eyes and rest in my little car for a few before going in. While I was never asleep, I think, because I can hear everything going on. I decided to wake up but I realizes I could not move. My eyes were somewhat shut but I can actually see a little bit of my dash and buildings around me. I had to jerk my arms and snap my neck forward to get myself to move or wake up. Anyone experience this. It use to happen to me in my teens in bed around 8-9 in the morning a few times.

This happened to me once listening to Close To The Edge during the "I get up, I get down" part. Couldnt move anything. Not sure what it was. Trance perhaps. Havent done any psychedelics in a long time.

Thanks for the link, Dave. I remember having it years ago, and I was so afraid to fall back alseep and fought it to snap my arms to wake up. Falling back asleep was so easy, but thinking I might not wake up and die. Freaking feeling for sure. No drugs, no bipolar issues, and seldom drinks. Has it ever happen to you? | ||

I get sleep paralysis all the time. It was quite traumatizing when I was young. Now that I am older, I have a better understanding of it. I wish I could stop being a control freak during the paralysis and just let myself go.

I have never allow myself to go back to sleep all the times I have had it. I don't have it too often, maybe 10-20 time in my life. Let yourself go meaning go back to sleep?

I have never experienced it but it is not that unusual from what I have read. It is normal and nothing to worry about.

The first time was pretty scary. Conscious, but not able to move, yell for help, nada. Only happened too me twice, both times I was under higher stress and hadn't been getting enough sleep. Second time, I just chilled until it passed. Not much I could do anyway...
