Someone please explain this Brazilian SPIDERSTORM (video)
It's raining spiders
Have I ever mentioned I don't really like spiders. This would freak me out. Like panic freak-out. Can someone explain what's happening here?

I'm not a huge fan of spiders. I'm not phobic, but I certainly wouldn't walk under that web. Actually, I think spiders are really neat as long as I can watch them without any chance of them getting on me. I would get borderline panicy if I walked through that web without realizing it until I did.
Clearly, it's not raining spiders, there's just a huge web full of spiders that are at least tolerant of other spiders if not social. You'll love this too, from Texas

A colleague of mine walked under a tree at night and into a serious spider web. This was in South Korea. He got bitten as was on a venom ER like routine with sharpie marker lines showing the progression of the poison. Freaked me out...I was the relief shift 5 PM to 5 AM. He ended up with a huge abscess and lots of followup care. I don't like spiders...

My sister had a huge wood spider in a web on a tree outside her front door. They aren't dangerous, but get very large. It was there for a very long time. When she moved to another house, she caught it in a jar and put it on a bush outside the new house's door. It stayed there for a year or two I think & just disappeared on day. I never heard of a spider hanging around for that long & didn't have any idea they lived that long.

Years ago when I was big into astronomy a club member had a sky party in his back yard. He lived in a dark area and it was great viewing. He mentioned to not walk between two particular trees because the trees were infested with spiders. I managed to avoid them on my first trip to the house. Late in the evening after a few tasty beers I forgot and walked between the two trees. My face was covered in spider webs. I did not loiter and post haste made it inside to the bathroom. It was a bit freaky. Fortunately I am not an arachnophobe.

When they're done building the colonial web, they migrate to the edge and wait for prey:
