Buy 14 fresh oysters... Take two and bury them in dirt. After three days, dig them up and squeeze the juice of the 2 onto the other 12 oysters...
Serve all twelve on a stainless steel plate with a rock salt, exotic lettuce leaves and some sauce of choice.

Now whoever eats one or two tainted oysters will live for about 60 hours. Even with proper medical care their chances of survival are very poor.

Cause of death. A bad oyster.

Didn't they used to give IV alcohol to delay contractions?

Edit: Yep. Listed as a tocolytic drug that was frequently administered in the 50s.
It is given via IV and the dose adjusted to maintain blood alcohol level of 0.9-1.6 mg/litre.
