One recommendation from our experience, the factory floor mats are dinky and don't protect much of anything. We invested in Weathertech floor liners which have been worth every penny. In our bench seat XLT they are one piece up front, including the tunnel hump. In the rear it is also one piece and extends all the way under the rear seat. Our carpet still looks new underneath, they are awesome. I also did a front leveling kit on mine to give it an even stance, no more forward rake.

How did this suspension adjustment affect your ride quality. It totally screwed up my 2004 2wd F150.

+1 zillion on the Weathertechs. I have had them in all of my newer cars and love them. For some reasson I couldn't get the digitally molded ones for my Excursion so I had their "all weather" ones, but they too worked.

In my bucket seat 2012 F350 they are two piece in the front and a single piece like Matt says in the back. The fit and finish is top notch.

You were right about the stock mats. Weathertechs will be ordered. Here's a few pics (sorry for the bad light, the sun is almost down here. Truck rides very nice, back end does sit quite high. I'll post some pics of it next to the old Chevy to show the difference. Thanks for help guys, my old '82 also has the 5.0 and no problems from it either.

Here's a side-by-side of the Ford next to the crew cab Silverado it replaced. The Silverado was one of the most trouble-free vehicles we've ever owned. I think I need a rope ladder next.

Great looking truck! XLT with the chrome package? Ours is the same except Ingot Silver. So far we did the mats, had the front tint matched to the back, level, and added a Bedrug and color matched tonneau cover.

Honestly the level didn't change the ride quality at all, it's just a spacer above the front strut so it doesn't change the suspension geometry.

About the only other stuff I'll do is have Rhino lining sprayed in and a lockable bed cover like I did on the Chevy.

Nice truck! Congrats! I'd love to get a new F150, but my DD 2006 F150 5.4L only as 110,000 miles on it and no matter how hard I try, I can't justify buying a new one. It rides just like new and has no squeaks or rattles. Great trucks. I also have an 05 4x4 with 70K miles that I will likely keep forever.

Ours in a lockable Ranch fiberglass cover, color matched to the truck. It's a smooth finish cover and a perfect match to the truck. It was under $1000 including freight, I think from autoanything.

Check out Line-X if they have that down there. I prefer it over Rhino. Same price

I looked at both last time, preferred the Rhino. Plus it is the same place I will buy the "Undercover" top, so a "package deal" from a trusted vendor is again in order. I'm pretty loyal if treated nicely by companies.

So, I NEED to ask a big question.

If the Silverado was the most dependable truck you ever had, why didn't you replace it with another? I don't work for Chevy, just curious,

He told us earlier in the thread. I won't buy GM now for the same reason.

Never say never, you may find reasons to use it. It's nice knowing you got it if you need it. It's also a good resale item.

Also, I agree with you on the never buying GM, I also include Chrysler. It's a shame too some of their products are nice. But I have always had a thing for the blue oval. I guess it was that 66 mustnag in high school that did it.

Good luck on your decision.
