What will you leave your kids?

Assuming you have children, what tangilbes (money, stuff, nothing) do you intend to leave them when you fail to wake up one day??

Assuming I go first and then my wife goes next, then our only child will inherit everything. P car , Camry, etc, real estate, stocks etc. She will be able to pay off their mortgage and have $$$ left over. The greatest thing we have given her is a good work ethic though..... She started working and studying since age 15 and has not stopped.We are blessed.

Just about everything seeing as you don't take anything with you when you leave.

No debt of any kind from their parents.

What I instilled in my children was a great work ethic, a sense of humor, the ability to think for themselves, critically, and a desire to seek their own place in this world.

Also the love of reading. The best days of my life remain talking to my daughter and son about the books we had, have or are each reading, getting their perspective, especially now that they are both in college.

I also insisted that they try and and master the written word...I made them each kept a journal, which I never read but had them, once a week, give me the Reader's Digest version of their scribblings.

That is the way I was raised...I figured that even though I fought the law and the law prevailed, it would be a good start for them.

After the the lawyers are paid, the estate satisfied, they can split the rest, equally and without rancor. Any legal fights and the estate evaporates, defaults to charity.

My step son will end up with my hot rodded 911. Hoping this is a long way off, as I'm still gathering parts for the 911. Also I'm kind of young.

House, a couple of vehicles, some family artwork and heirlooms. They way my daughter and her fiancee' are going, it all won't add a "0" to their net worth. My son. it would hopefully not be enough to make him comfortable.

I have no human kids and I will probably outlive my current furkids - but maybe when my time comes I will have a large gruppe of new furkids to leave my estate to....

I actually think I will set up a dog rescue gruppe to inherit my wealth.

I have no expectations of a large payout when my parents are gone, and have actually told them to spend the $$ on new vehicles or trips, because I don't want to see a nursing home get ahold of all thier money.

I don't feel obligated to leave my kids anything, but they will get whatever is left from a paid off farm, large 401K account, and cars and household items. I am not specifically saving anything for them, but will try to help get them established, and help whereever I can while i'm alive.

I was a good step father - taught him responsibility, a work ethic, the value of doing a good job, how to be a man. I haven't planned to leave him anything else. What more could a man want? OTOH if I croak before I burn through what I've accumulated, he'll get what I haven't pissed away.
