Craig must be doing alright to turn down that kind of money. As far as portraying Bond, it's probably a smart move. I think he did fine as Bond and made his mark but he's done enough of the films. Roger Moore should have turned down his last few Bond pictures.
Even Connery should have passed on Diamonds Are Forever. I think the producers dread going through the process of finding the next Bond and what the fan acceptance will be.

FWIW I was glad to see the Judy Dench version of "M" go....she betrayed too many agents as far as I'm concerned. In particular she "ratted out" agent Tiago Rodriguez (Raoul Silva) to the Chinese. Not to mention the mis-handling of the James Bond shooting and subsequent "death" at the beginning of the movie. She had a crap personality as well and didn't seem to be a very good fighter.
Looking forward to watching "Spectre" when I get the chance.....

Hmmm, seems the bookies are looking at Tom Hiddleston as the next Bond. He's great in The Night Manager and would be a great Bond.

That, or he thinks doing more bond movies will "ruin his career". You know, like it did to Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan. So instead, he will follow the example of George Lazenby. He's had so much trouble finding other, non-Bond work. Cowboys vs. Aliens, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Force Awakens.....it's been rough.

If HE MADE $1OO MILLION ON THE NEXT BOND MOVIE, HE WOULDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT FINDING WORK.
Or, he could hire on to any movie that interested him, for free. What Hollywood studio would turn down a free, big-name actor in any movie? Having a couple hundred million in the bank gives a chap certain options. JR |
