Hey Baz- in the liner notes for Celebration Day (very understated from the older three) Jason says, words to the effect of : "I did it. I played with my Dads band. I played with Led Zeppelin."

And- he plays his heart out, its fkn awesome to watch.

Im not an uncritical fan. By the late 70s they were fat and bloated and boring. After LZ split up in 1980, everytime they appeared somewhere, they were awful, I just wished they'd stop. Just fade way, as the Gods they were, let it be. But Celebration Day is an absolutely appropriate reminder, an underline and a career close - just in case anyone needs reminding about who is the Greatest Rock Band ever.

I grew up with Zep, like yourself and many others here, but especially in the past 5 years or so have I realized - what incredible legends in rock they really are.

Robert Plant's solo stuff alone is in a class by itself and always will be.

Long live Led Zeppelin.....with Jason 'filling in' for dad! ;)

Back in high school, if no parties were going on, my friends and I spent many Friday nights watching "The Song Remains The Same" after properly tying one on.

Just watching the Kashmir clip brings it all back...as if it were yesterday!

Saw LZ one time in Tampa when I was 15......had already loved them for years due to my older brother's collection of vinyl (and 8 tracks kept in his '67 Mustang)--

Caught Robert Plant on virtually every solo tour he did throughout the '80's and loved every single performance.

Saw Page and Plant together a couple of times on the "No Quarter" tour also--they were backed up by a local orchestra most of these times and played Kashmir each time--and each time I welled up with emotion as that song got the best of me.

Obviously it's a case of "to each his own" but for me it was (and is) definitive!

I too, used to tie one on while watching "The song remains the same", or as an alternative movie, "The holy grail" and either totally mellow out, or laugh our azzes off.
