BMW Roundel I Hate Thieves!!!

Just got a message from a buddy who is on a cruise out of Miami that the wheels on his X5 were stolen, while parked at the Marriott in secured ($$$) parking.
And people wonder why I don't feel bad when a criminal dies while committing a crime

I guess they still do get stolen. That sucks . Did they leave it up on blocks?

You know............ first thing I would think of is how did they steal it? The vehicle is all-wheel drive and in assuming in 'park' you'd have to drag that thing with all 4 wheels locked up onto a flatbed. The only way to move under it's own power is to have a key that was coded to that vehicle. The theif could have bypassed the door locks but the security system would have went off. Just jacking it up would set of the motion alarm.........

Those vehicles are not exactly fool-proof but tough to steal for the average guy. Sounds like an inside job / valet guy? Dunno......

^ Dude, re-read.

The wheels were stolen.

IMO, it almost worse... On blocks, or rotors, in a paid/secure Marriott lot.

Wonder what incoming guests were thinking???

I hope for that guys sake the crooks are stupid and list them on Ebay and get caught. However most of the time the items are on order for somebody in the criminal community. Don't they have cameras in that lot. It's a start.

Or, just a Craigslist wanted ad. I posted up a wanted ad for a Ford F150 tailgate in a specific color. The next day, a guy contacted me and had one. I bought it... no way of telling if he was legit or he stole it.

I feel bad your buddy got pinched. That will probably ruin the rest of his trip.

Might want to do a few searches on craigslist and see if any pop up locally. If you find a set that match his and the tires are the same, might want to give that information to the police to see if they can bust the thieves.

I feel your friend's pain. At least they didn't break INTO anything. There is an extra sense of violation when you know someone has been creeping through your personal space, whether it's the inside of your car or your bedroom.
