Very cool. Have you ever had a ride in it? It would be a nice memory. Smoking rubber and the sound of a big block wrapping up to the redline would be a great experience.

Wanna bet? Terry Honaker's Bullitt in the near lane here...(A street machine with a "few" bolt-ons.)

DanJ said "Bullit's Mustang"...which was a 390... and also a '68 like the 'Vette he was referring to.

Neither one of the cars in that vid fit that description.

So, DanJ is correct and once again, you display your insecurities by rushing to defend your ride, which wasn't even being discussed.

Funny stuff, Paul.

No apostrophe in Dan's post....but keep on ragging on me at every opportunity. I'd miss it if you ever quit.

Very cool. My next project is my grandfather's old 1970 Mustang that he owned since 1980. Non car people underestimate how special several thousand pounds of steel can become.

Paul,
No apostrohe, sorry for my grammatical error. I was refering to the original Bullit Mustang
I think this car is cooler then that highly reverred "cool car"
Mainly because it's for real and not a Ford

Yes, there was a time...before "Government Motors"...when Corvettes were cool.

Bullitt Mustang
Pool
Government Motors
Sold my 72s

You need some new material. Maybe you can borrow "snow tires.". That's not getting a lot of use nowadays. Or come up with something fresh. You have lots of free time on your hands. Good luck.

As a driver a 68 390 hp 4 speed Vette is an awesome car today.Much more street friendly than the solid lifter 11:1 CR higher hp 427s The mods that are visable do lower it,s value to the collector. Vette guys are ridiculous about stuff like dated hose clamps and numbers matching . (only there are repro hose clamps and restamped engines etc all over the place.) As for a race with an old bullet Mustang I would bet the Mustang would win in most cases .Most stock Vettes were sold to Dr,s wives not racers. the rear suspension was too stiff to achieve much weight transfer so drag racing times were usually disappointing and toe change on curves meant the car was less than stellar on curves. Early Shelby Mustangs and certainly Cobras regularly beat Vettes on road courses.
How would i know? I have a 454 1972 in my driveway parked next to my 993 with my 1966 Shelby clone in the garage. I,m busy removing the aftermarket sidepipes and stuff from the vette to get it ready for sale. Still a hot looking car and the chrome bumper C3s are only going up ,much like the air cooled 911s

Still, your insecurities about your ride made you miss the fact there is an "s" there, and caused you to jump to your own defense.

You need to get that checked out. By a professional, perhaps.

Jim R. is right; you need some new material. And maybe a life while you're at it.

Don't forget about the overspray in the engine compartment

I'd like to think this car would never see a collection, but hopefully remain in the family, that is were a car like this belongs, IMHO..
Cars like this were purchased by Men who were really glad to have survived, and many came home, but still left a part of themselves in the Jungles, either physical or mental.
