Even for us this guy is a nut bag. While the snakes he is mucking around with are not the worst we have they can still kill you..

It's simply amazing how resourceful you chaps have become after your guns were banned by government!

Not all of them. It's just a lot harder than before. You have to have a "valid" reason to own one. So what's the definition of valid? That's up to your states police commissioner. (Boss cop)

No semi auto anything. Bolt action rifles and double barrel shotguns mostly. Pistols have always been very restricted.

If you have a police record? Don't even try to apply for a licence.

Hey Peter......you know I was just joking but good info anyway, thanks.

I've always felt the problem was enforcement of violent crimes than gun ownership - but as we both know - society is ruled by pinheaded politicians so there you are.

All the best to you - and happy hunting!

I wonder how long before Bear Grills does that on one of his Man Vs Wild shows.

Lots ..... it even gets to a point where you are glad you have one type of poisonous snake in your neighborhood.

Where I live to the North West of Sydney, you get either red Belly Black snakes or Brown snakes (we have such descriptive names) - you never get both though. If you have the shy and slightly less poisonous red belly black in your area you are happy because it means they have chased out the more aggressive and very poisonous Brown's.

Both can kill you, but the red will move away if disturbed whereas the Brown will defend.

We have more or less one kind of deadly poisinous everything. Snakes, spiders, sea snakes, jelly fish,my wife, fish, wasps lol even the Platapus has venom. Granted not enough to kill you but it will F___ you up.
Platypus venom - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When it comes to snakes we have almost 100 types of venomous snakes but,
As Mothy said. You are glad when you have Red belly Blacks as they will get rid of the Brown snakes. Browns are very aggresive and will chase you if move into their area. Its not like they are killing people all the time though. There are only around half a dozen deaths a year. Of the top 25 most poisonous snakes in the world we have 20 of them and all the top 11 are here. I think your rattle snakes come in around 35. We also have most of the spiders that will kill you just for fun.

We have very few rattle snakes in Canada, and none around here. We do have bears, moose, coyotes etc that can kill, but not often. That poisonous stuff scares me. How often do you actually see them? I did get to kill a poisonous giant centipede and a lot of black widow spiders when I was in Haiti.

That is nuts. Was he just using this as an example on how to catch rabbit if one is jonesing for a rabbit stew? If it was just to eat to survive, wouldn't it be easier to just eat the snakes?

I've had rattlesnake before, it isn't bad.

He's been in the sun too much. I think I've killed about a dozen rattlers in 16 years at my house. Six were big enough to make belts.

Do worry too much. I doubt you'll meet my wife.

Just for laughs though we do have 20 of the top 25 most deadly snakes with the first 11 being all ours.
We have 140 kinds of snakes here with 100 of them being venomous. I again don't stress over that though. It's the spiders you have to look out for..

The good news is that none of the deadly spiders build webs you will walk into. They are all either ground dwelling or in dark shady spots like the back of the garage door!

LOL, excellent youtubes and support

I should be safe enough. I'll be staying at the Shangri-la in Carins, then a week on a resort island snorkeling and sitting on the beach then a day or two in Port Douglas.

lots of photos to follow.
