You're going to have to add me to the list of folks you hate.
In the Summer time, my commute is exactly 5 miles long. 10 minutes door-to door. This time of year, I am semi-retired. Yawn! If it makes you feel any better, when I was a sales rep. I distinctly remember walking out of my last stop at 5:15, knowing I had a 2 hour drive ahead of me. Almost no traffic to speak of, just most of Western Nova Scotia. Life is good now. Best Les |
18 minutes door-to-door if I walk. Faster if I hop on the bus.
|
It takes me an hour to get to work.
|
The map says the average for my home base is 23 min; I average 50 to 70 min (45 miles) depending on traffic and which shift I'm on.
|
From 1992 to 1999, I had a 54 miles commute each way. It was OK, mostly because there was no traffic.
|
For me it's 63 miles each way and about 1.5 hrs. If I drop my son off at daycare it's another 15 min.
kinda sucks on the long days. I leave at 8 am and get home about 2 am. |
I wouldn't mind the hour commute so much if it wasn't all stop and go in traffic.

The app says average 34.9 miles. My wife and I both commute 3hours/day. She goes ~70 miles East and I drive ~70miles South. Both actively looking for local work for the past 3years but no luck.
|
20 miles....45 to 60 minutes in the truck....30 to 40 on the motorcycle.
|
I have a 10 mile city commute. It can take a minimum of 25 minutes or 2 hours and anywhere in between.
Since I live in Chicago - The President often visits. Usually it is a Friday around 4pm -5pm. When this happens, it is faster to walk home as the expressways are shut down. |
I'm at 30 min +/- 5 min. Half the drive is local roads, half interstate. Usually minimal bottlenecks as long as I hit the interstate by 7:00 and none if I get on at 6:45.
When I lived in Dallas it was 45 min, but took light rail for half of it. I hated the days I had to drive to the office. |
Obama built me a 152 million dollar intersection so now it is only 15 miles and takes 20 minutes. That is if I can avoid the 5 police cars looking to give tickets.
This used to be the intersection of two two lane roads and a stoplight. http://www.modot.org/stlouis/major_p...ingWest3_1.jpg |

2 1/2 hours. On a good day at 4am I can make it in 2 if I am late and exceed the speed limit by 50 mph at times.

hahaha! Somebody kick me! :D

60 miles each way, thankfully it's not everyday.
|
In Los Angeles my commute was about 30 minutes, all on PCH. So that was 50 minutes a day I was sitting in a car going about 15 mph on average.
Now my commute is about 5 minutes. Amazing what a difference it can make. I do more things now after work than I used to. |

I do 80 plus miles a day. 45 min to get to work in the morns, 60 min to get home but, I take back roads over the SC mountains to avoid traffic. Adds a little time but, my stress is relieved by the twisties;):D
I gladly do it for the benefits of where I live...:) |

12 miles to my office. It takes 20-25 mins if I am out the door by 615am. After that it takes 40-60 mins.
Home is 30-40 mins if Ieave anytime after 4pm I'm often out in the field though...I've driven almost 200 miles today. My 45 miles commute back tonight is taking about 2 hrs. Fridays are the worst. |
8 miles, an about 15 minutes. Wouldn't want it any other way. Close enough to ride my bike on nice days too.
|
30 seconds. 90 if I stop off at the coffee maker.
|
|
About 100 miles/day. 50 mile commute. ~60 minutes in morning and 75 in evening. I don't like losing 2+ hours a day like this. Into my 3rd year.
|
72 miles, one way -- 1-1/2 hours. Mostly open desert. LA to Barstow.

I am guessing there are circumstances such as no pedestrian access? (Tell her the walk will make her legs look better;)) I had a fellow who worked for me a couple of decades back. drove about that far to work. He couldn't understand why his exhaust pipe rusted out so fast. That is murder on a vehicle. Best Les |
Mine used to be about 38 miles each way. That could take anywhere from 45 minutes to nearly two hours depending on traffic, and it was all highway. An accident could cripple the highway system completely at any time and all you can do is inch along.
Now it is 2.3 miles and it is all on surface streets. I have to take the long way if I choose to drive the 911 just so she'll get to temp--but of course that's not a problem. I did the long commute for nearly 9 years and it was seriously beginning to erode my sanity. I drove this particular stretch of highway a few weeks ago and the memories of all the time I wasted there starting flooding back. Never again! |
