Watch lovers LOOK!

My dad died a month ago. The emotional pain was too great to post much about it at the time. It is a long story that I still don't want to discuss in detail as yet.

I am the executor of the estate charged with liquidating his estate.

The point of this post is my dad had 7 watches. The Rolex is in the safe deposit box and has a appraisal. That one will be easy.

I am looking for opinions from the brain trust to let me know which of these watches is worth getting appraised buy a local pro, and which are just sell on ebay watches.

First up:

This is the one I suspect is the oldest. It is a Bouliva Accutron Astronaut. It is the one the has the most wear. The crystal likely needs to be replaced.

Next up another Bouliva:

This one says Movt West Germany 92N36at the bottom of the face.

I have never heard of this watch:

It is a Gitano and is from Hong Kong.

Next is another watch I have never heard of. The Invicta.

Next up an Jules Jurgensen.

And finally the Stuhrling Original.

It is the watch he wore the most often when he was dressed up.

My question is: which of these is even worth taking to a watch shop to be cleaned, and checked up and evaulated? I don't think any of them are super rare or expensive. I do think all of them have some value more than a hundred bucks.

I can provide more information about any watch. All of them will be for sale but I have no idea for what price.

Just my .02, that Bulova looks like he wore it all the time. I would have the inside of it cleaned and tuned and wear it just the way it is.

Have the accutron cleaned and keep it. Lots of wear indicates at some point he loved it.

The invicta and the sterling are both sub $100 watches.

I wear a Casio Ironman cheap watch all the time. The Bouliva Astronaut is a possible keeper. I still need to find out what it real value is.

I also have this box with room for 11 watches and many cuff links or rings.

Ok, thanks. No point taking them to a jewler. Maybe my nephews will want them. My brother is like me, not into fancy dress watches.

Glen- Sorry for your loss.

The Accutron Astronaut is collectable. Different models were offered by Bulova. That one has soul and if it were me, would cherish it. I have no idea of value but I've seen nice ones bring $500 to $1000. Talk of astronaut's and watches: Years ago read some interview of the first trained astronauts having a fix for big complicated watches and Corvette's. They also liked to trade them, deal on the side of little treasures smuggled to space and back. Little things like a ring, small American flags, etc.- LOL.

Sorry about your loss.

The Bulova Astronaut I'd keep no questions asked. What did your father do that got those watches so beat up? I don't wear a watch or any jewelry, so I have no point of reference. My wife's watches look nothing like those.

My dad was a pilot in the Air Force. I suspect he got that watch long ago. I know he wore it while in uniform a lot.
