You think that's good? There was a thread at one point where he was asking where I lived so he could come to my house, or rather send some friends over, to kick my ass.

That's pretty good. "I'm pissed off because you don't agree with me, so I am going to beat you up."

Whatever.

In another online community I am active in, I organize gatherings of people in that (gaming) community. We gather ~400 "forumites" at a hotel over a 4-day weekend into a conference room and play games all weekend. A lot of times, the blowhards show up - and you know what? Everyone is always sweet as pie in person. I've had problems only once with unruly guests (drunk), so it stands to reason that what's said on the forums is pretty harmless.

However - I tend to watch what I say to people. It's important. I like to be able to back up my forum posts by saying that I wouldn't change my tune if the person were standing next to me.

The conscensus seems to be almost everyone wants the BigB to stay and I certainly go along with that. I think it takes a big guy to even ask and put it to a vote.

But boy oh boy do you have a talent for stirring up a hornet's nest from an innocuous question! I think some of your posts became a lot of fun and I don't think any harm was done but perhaps a less aggressive pose sometimes would help? Whatever, it's your call. Like yourself, I think, my natural reaction in uncomfortable social situations is to turn aggressive and go on the offensive. I learned to keep myself in check, and what do you know, the social situation became a lot more comfortable. Despite your pose, I'm pretty sure you learned to keep yourself in check a long time ago too.

If you spend some time going through the archives you will find lots of posts that I think with the power of hindsight the posters may regret, there are certainly some of mine when I wish I'd read a post better before replying or counted to ten.

Oh by the way, before you send the boys round, warn them I fight dirty and my cat has a concealed weapons permit

Shut up, BigB, you stupid moron!!! I HOPE YOU DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, on second thought, I think that was a bit too harsh. What I meant to say was, I like a little spice on this board. Too many bland, uber polite answers to every question would kill this board. As long as we all treat everyone with respect, a little controversy makes life interesting.

Why is it that someone is always offended by what someone else says or how they say it.

Are we so engaged in trying to be "oh so politically correct" that a comment can't be made by someone else without having some cause or effect that offends someone?

Everyone on this board has a right to say whatever he or she wants regardless of how it is said. If someone becomes offended by its content or how it's written then I say "Tough S**t". However, I do not condone foul language

Although this is a Porsche Forum, as long as members provide input, it's blind to conten. That is unless of course, Wayne decides otherwise.

That being said I think we all need to take a deep breath, relax and stop being so critical - you can get that anywhere. This is supposed to be a support forum for P-Car Owners who have problems and questions that need answers - not criticism.

Cool guy's its sucks to feel like the outsider sometimes. I am 10 times more Pcar educated than I was 6 short months ago. I do keep myself in check in social situations but I have to admit it's hard to decifer who's kidding and who's looking for a fight. In any case I think you for the most part you guys are great. My skin is now officially a little thicker here, I still have a distaste for a few idiots that throw out the one liners and contribute little outside of criticism.

For the guy who thinks I am unstable, I agree you never know when this cat is gonna freak, believe me! I am better than I used to be but you never know.

It's said that most Porsche owners aspire to a Ferrari, after three months many are looking for a Porsche again, others are lost to Ferrari for good. Keep us all informed how you find they compare.
