Beautiful and touching. Very few things can touch the awe and wonder in a child's eyes when experiencing something like that. Nice touchdown, too... her head barely moved forward for a split second. What's the function of that lever in the roof that her dad adjusts a couple of times?

Awesome. My fondest childhood memories are of flying with my grandfather in his Bonanza. Hopefully I can someday share that with my kids.

Well she is braver than I am. My GF, as a birthday present, shouted me a trial flight in a Piper Cub I thought I was going to die of a heart attack in that thing. It was like being 1,000 feet up in a canvas kite.

Ok - that is definitley the best and happiest video I've seen this year. My daughters are 21 and 19, and the 19 y.o. told me yesterday she's thinking of flying f-18's (She's at USNA - ouch!). For all the fathers of daughters that age - GO DO THAT. Wow!

The purpose of this is to take the pressure off the elevators and make the aircraft easier to fly. I don't know what engine is in that Cub - could be anywhere between 60-85 hp. The best is the Super Cub which has 150 hp. Piper Cubs are some of the most fun aircraft. You have stick control and you are lined up with the propeller which makes you think you are in a fighter aircraft. Nice video. Thanks for sharing... | ||

No kidding! My son's first flight in a Cub was around that age...wish I had thought of the video camera. He had a huge smile as well. A few friends of mine were flight instructors...they said you could tell in a minute or two how comfortable a student was by seeing if they would look to the side and down in a turn naturally. Great video.

Just the usual suspects, time and money. I started taking lessons, but commitments at work and at home had pushed the dream back a bit. I now realize the timing will never be right, so I'm hoping to get back in the swing of things soon. This video is serving as inspiration. Last edited by Sarc; 03-11-2013 at 08:53 AM..
