Plus (for the East): 4 of the original 6 are in the East
Minus: the West has an unfair advantage to two less teams to compete for playoffs.
Its Christmas morning for Detroit that has been lobbying to be in the East for a few decades.

Based on this year's results, the Rangers and Pens are the only two teams in Div D. They should be able to coast to the playoffs with only 3rd and 4th strings.

I was not really basing my quote on this shorten season but on most of the previous ones. You know when ever the Islanders or NJ Devils or Philly play the Rangers they play like it is the last game on earth. Beat the heck out of each other. LOL It is like when the Yankees Play the Redsox LOL PS The Bruins and Rangers have games like that too. I think it is because the teams in these states are so close together. It is like a East coast rivalry.

Why did they not go 15 and 15? 16 and 14 seems sort of hokey. Do the West teams not have a higher chance of making it in than in the East?
