Lost a close friend.

I lost one of my best friends the other day.

They changed his depression meds and he never got up the next day... I don't have all of the details yet but I did speak with a mutual friend who found him.

Guys, if you or any of your friends or family are on depression meds, please don't take these things lightly.

Mark leaves behind a 4 year old son...

Just came home from visiting a buddy that has depression that isn't responding to medication (tried lots of different meds and combinations). He did things differently than your friend and realized he was a danger to himself and is now hospitalized and undergoing some pretty extreme treatment.
Sorry for your loss. Good friends are impossible to replace.
Sad that little boy will never really know his dad.

Sorry for your loss. Do I understand your post correctly that your friend killed himself because his depression meds weren't working?

Change your diet (big link between our gut and our mood), change you exercise, change your job. Don't ruin your family by taking this route.

I don't think he did himself in. We won't know until after the autopsy. I think it was a bad reaction to the meds.

So sorry for your loss. The whole world of depression and the medical industry is scary. I saw a one woman show 2 years ago. The lady had started having depression after cancer treatment I think. Her doc prescribed some type of popular depression med. Her symptoms worsened and turned more extreme progressing toward psychotic episodes, lost her job, had to go live with parents, etc. They kept prescribing more/different depression drugs. A doc who was a family friend looked at her history, family medical history, etc. and said take her off the depression meds. She wasn't depressed, she was feeling situational depression from the cancer treatment (which was successful) and side effects from those drugs. The depression drugs were making her much worse. Took her months to get off the various crap her other docs had her one. Today she is fine and speaking out about the dangers of over prescribing these drugs. She is NOT saying that nobody needs them.

Again, sorry for the loss of your friend and condolences to his family. Take care of yourself.
