Garage
I have glue traps in some corners inside the house and near exterior doors. But when I was putting them in the garage, I never caught a scorpion in one, but did catch some lizards, which made me stop. I love the lizards and they die a slow death in those glue traps. I catch lots of crickets, so that's good because that's scopions' food source. But catching them in the house doesn't do anything to eliminate them outside, where they also attract scorpions.

Yeah I would find a lizard or two that I was not happy about, but the fact that I was trapping soooo many scorpions sort of out weighed the loss of a couple lizards.
And it wasn't just the scorpions......LOTS of brown recluse spiders were in the traps too.

Tweeze,

You need only do one thing. Eliminate the food supply! They eat crickets and other small insects, so spray for the small bugs and the scorpions will not come to the house as there is no food there.

If you want someone to spray the house for the scorpions let me know. I do my own...

Joe, I get sprayed monthly for crickets and to tell you honestly, haven't seen a cricket yet. I know my neighbor does not get sprayed for crickets so perhaps wandering scorpions? I know they find WAY more in their house than mine during the peak time. Like at least two a week.

And funny story, guys. Just shows you I am a nerd and in this situation, it saved me some money. When I went to Lowes to buy a blacklight flashlight, they had two brands. One box had this huge picture of a scorpion and was labeled "scorpion flashlight!" Totally empty. Sold out. At first I was bummed. Then right next to that box, two other boxes of unassuming looking flashlights that were generically labeled "ultra violet flashlights". Not one missing in the box. I know this because they had slots for each package. Now, the scorpion flashlights were $20 and these generic ultraviolet light ones were $10. I sat there for a second questioning myself because I was shocked that about 50 of the generic but basically the same flashlight for $10 cheaper. I bought two of the generic. The power of marketing to stupid people. You can charge twice as much for the same thing!

OTOH, maybe import some scorpions to eat the crickets.

Just kidding. I don't like land lobsters either.

Hm, this might be an opportunity to organize some nighttime Airsoft hunts.

Does a tail-less whip scorpion count? Not particularly dangerous compared to the bark scorpions, but I find them more creepy to deal with. These things are fast!

I've done 4 24-hour races in Tuscon which included camping in the desert. Wonder how many close calls I've had with the little critters...

Found this one on the wall tonight, only about 2' from where I had been leaning against the wall shirtless while I was putting up the lights!

I've checked my yard 4-5 times since the temps warmed up at night. I've only found one! I'm hoping this is a sign that years of scorpion hunting is paying off.

The walls in my yard are where they hang out almost exclusively. I would never touch any piece of the wall without looking very carefully first. I'm still averaging about one a night with my black light and map gas torch. Muhahahahah.

When I lived in SE Colo. we had two or three scorpions hanging out on our ceiling most weeks. I'd take a broom and knock them down then shoe down. But they never came in further than the entry way.

Now for the big question, Tweeze do you have a good recipe for crispy orange beef?
