Did it have a pistol grip? You know, that thing that goes down.

I could see with a good, sharp knife someone could eff up a lot of people really fast. No reloading, no semi-auto jambs, no loud gunfire to announce what you're doing. Someone is slashing at you like a madman (correction, they are a madman), are you going to run up against them and try and take them down with your bare hands?

Think about this. These college campuses are like 13th and 14th grades. Between classes, there are tons of people in the hall way. How tough is it to run down between people and slash and poke? Not very.

Inside of 30 feet, most attackers can close the distance before you can pull out a firearm and fire!

How about a sword? Double edged...that could mess up a group pretty quickly!

Or an axe! Like in Vikings...A battle axe! My mother-in-law is an old battle axe! She could mess you up! She should be banned as well!!!

I think you were on to something with your first thought........I might be wrong, but it seems to me that several countries have had vast wastelands where they deposited those unfit for society rather than spending tons of $$$ to feed and care for them in prisons...

I believe an LAPD study showed that inside of 21 feet, a knife wielder has an even chance of taking out an officer with a holstered weapon.

Mythbusters actually took that one on--the knife wielder did a lot better than one might expect.

I think that study was done by a sheriff in Ohio. I am also pretty sure the study concluded more often than not the knife wielder would prevail.

It's a dam shame that these punks have to hurt others to get their thrills. Too bad he was still alive to be arrested.

Here is some good info on the kid. Once again, neighbors say he was real nice. I am just glad the teens on my street are typical azzhats. At least they won't go on a killing spree.

Knives can't be dangerous - they're going to be allowed back on planes!
