I will be doing my annual trek to NAMM next week & I found the news on Jalopnik, FB etc. I always tried to make the drive down from Anaheim on Saturday morning - although my minivan rental did seem a bit out of place.

Sucky news.

Before reading I just assumed it was from too many street racing after the meeting, like some of the videos I've seen of people wrecking their Vettes at the Houston one.

I did hear on a radio car talk show last week in L A that it had been moved from the Irvine site to another location. I didn't catch the new location as they were focused on the issues that had caused the move. They said it had become too big and that speeding and wreckless driving were a problem.

Maybe some of you Internet sluthes will be able to find its new location.

what are you doing out there? Same here, Cars and Coffee and all the good dealerships/shops are always on the visit list.

this is the second time it's been shut down and moved for the same complaints. It started in Newport Beach over 15 years ago. It'll land on a new location soon.

I read that it had outgrown its site, the parking lot outside Ford's west-coast headquarters. Source was a Ford spokesman, who said the thing had overflowed into other lots and had become too big to manage, if I recall correctly. For sure, it was fun while it lasted.

Join your PCA-LA friends at the next gathering on Sunday January 18, 2015.!! I believe the Irvine Company got it kicked out of Crystal Cove before it went to Ford/Mazda.

I heard this too from an Irvine insider and former Pelican. I'll be at NAMM and, if C&C is in Tustin, I'll go to it. I can't understand how anyone got away with bad behavior at the old site in Irvine. There were always cops at the entrance and plenty of signs warning you to not drive like a jerk. Seems to me it'd be an instant ticket for anything more than a slight engine rev.

Correct, but it was a result of merchants at Crystal Cove complaining.

that's true too, I once heard the people in one of the coffee shops complaining their customers couldn't get in. I had waited in line for ten minuets to get in and the line was still out the door. But they were complaining.

Oh nice!! I love me some Focal gear. I own a guitar store and accessory company, both called Ish, both with a lot of car-inspired designs and branding. Always cool to find those of us into both music and cars.
