Anyone want a nice Jaguar?

I'm selling this car for a friend, one owner, dealer serviced 23k mile 2008 Jag XKR. Every option, (Navigation and Alpine sound system), new Dunlops all around. It's a mint, always garaged CA. car.

Full service history from the dealer is available but it only includes scheduled maintenance. They have never had one single problem or issue with this car.

Anyhow, it books for ~$44k retail and I was going to throw it on ebay today. Just thought I'd put it here in case any Pelican happens to be looking for one. I'm thinking it will bring $40-42k at auction, if someone has cash in hand I will sell it for $40k which is high trade-in book.

Nice car - guy down the street has the same! Sounds like a great deal too. Right colors for my taste as well. The only down side to these cars really is their size.

Very nice! Modern Jaguars are actually really good cars, Ford did wonders for their reliability. Hard to shake the legacy of Lucas though.

Ford really did help Jag out. I love my XJ and have done nothing but standard maintenance in the 50k miles I've driven it.

It's hard to wrap one's head around how good these cars have gotten. I worked at a British Leland dealer in the '70s as a teenager and my Dad had a new XKE as well as a '60s sedan. Jags used to be beautiful cars that sat in shops a lot. Now they're as dependable as any Toyota. Weird.

This aluminum bodied, supercharged XKR is an absolute dream to drive and live with plus it looks stunning. IMO and everyone else's, it seems. It gets a lot of attention from the fairer sex.

My X308 XJR (2000) was a rocket and beautiful inside. If it weren't for the small back seat I'd have another right now.

Denis- Nice car. Curious, do the Cali versions have any differences in emission add-ons vs. rest of the states?

As for values, remarkable for the money. New Maxima are $42k and nothing compared to that Jag. Also tempting are a bit older Aston's DB Vantage in the upper $30,000 range. Low volume production during those years sort of makes them more the interesting.

I don't think that any modern car has had a separate CA. version for many years, maybe 20 or more(?) All newer vehicles are 50 state certified. As for the Aston Martins, they are nice cars but I doubt they can touch the reliability of these modern Jags.

Here is my eBay listing for it, just put it up:

The torque that can be had, very reliably, with the simple mods you listed...They're very fast for a boat.

My local dealership has my number for when they get a Super V8 in......Vanden Plas luxury and XJR engine......not much to not like

I'd take it but I've been saving up for a Bently instead. I'm dying for an Arnage, preferably the R Type. If I wasn't Jonesing for one of those I'd be all over the Jag.
