Stomachmonkey is a pretty cool dude...

I've known Scott for awhile - even saw his lil girl play soccer. His wife is a honey as well...

I know we may have got sideways when a friend of mine died...wasn't really the case. Denton's death really sent a shockwave through me.

But, be that as it may. Scotts a great guy and I look forward to bumping into him again at Lowes or Walmart!

Sto-Mo - I am getting the valves timed, I want you to take the Targa out for a beating! She likes it rough. :-)

Well admittedly in retrospect I could and probably should have taken into account your emotional state and phrased my post to that tragic event in a more sympathetic manner than I did.

Mike, my apologies.

I have a whole list of stuff I need to start doing before the heat gets stupid. Swap starter motor, install the SSI's that have been sitting in a box for the last few years, decide if I'm going to go all the way and do the Turbo which is also sitting in a box collecting dust, Yellow Bird bumpers, paint and gutting the interior.

Then there is rebuilding brakes on the 190SL and addressing the fuel dripping from the front carb onto the exhaust manifold.

There will be lots of beer drinking/wrench swinging going on over here and you are always welcome to come partake in either or both.

Cheers.

Please keep us posted how well it runs when you "get your valves timed".

Sam, I doubt it is the case here, but there is a theory and method of adjusting valves to exact timing making sure the tightest one does not exceed allowable minimum clearance. When done this way, an engine will run very smooth if otherwise blueprinted.

Scott: I'll do your 190SL Carbs if you do my brakes? Did the carbs last summer. Think I need a brake booster, looks expensive?
