yeah we've had those ad's for last few years. On the grounds that you cant focus on the race anyway, I just fast forward through the ad's. Always at the first round of pit stops without fail.

Too much work there. I don't care if Mobil 1 or Bud has ads. I buy what I buy. The whole Red Bull thing with 4 cars doesn't phase me either. Never bought one.
I'm just happy they have enough money to fund all the racing they do.

When there aren't any sponsors, there aren't any races.

Yep, the side by side sucks for me too. the track action is too small to make out what is going on. I prefer they just do the adds and stop the action, then come back to the race where it was before the adds. Or at least do play back of highlights from during the break.

Agree this does the sponsors no good with me. Plus the too often repeated adds that become really annoying are a big put off. Can't believe the sponsors aren't seeing what the big bucks they are spending is getting them. On the other hand if they chose to bunch the adds for the beginning and end of the race. They would earn our appreciation and support. Actually I would probably skip thru them, but at least not be irritated and turned off to them.

I am relieved to hear that others see the terrain as harsh and inhospitable also, was wondering if it was just in contrast to what I'm used to here on the Garden Island.
The surreal surroundings add to the game looking quality of the visuals.

The next races will show how the best teams are able to develop their cars mid season and move to the front for the European portion of the series. Can't wait!

Cheers Richard

Thought the race was ok. Watched the start over and over again a few times and questioned whether or not Rossberg was blocking by moving over and back. The rule states must leave one car length to edge of track. Don't know, but seemed like a futile move.

Seems the last few races were dictated by tire management and not driver skill in the best car...

What's the difference? Racing is tire management.

+1

Just because I don't want to buy a new Rolex or fly on Emirates does not mean I don't appreciate the ~$40M a year they each spend to help put on the show.

And fuel management and pit strategy and, and....

Be nice to get back to racing. I used to love to watch the Thursday night dirt track races on the original SpeedVision channel. That was balls out racing each heat to transfer to the main. They managed their tires in the main event by pressure and selection of tire.

To a certain extent, but this is getting ridiculous. Some of those compounds are going off too quick. Seems to be unnecessary scripted drama.

I'm not sure what to make of the tires they're using. During the China race, I was thoroughly confused on strategies. The race didn't play out until 4 laps from the end, so it was difficult to tell where everyone would end up. But, at least there's passing for the lead. Remember when they would go several years without a pass for the lead (on track)?

I think they went far to far with the tires in China. Tires that last 6 laps?! Just when there was about to be a race for a position, one car needs to stop for tires.
