Married Pelicans - Do you wear your wedding ring?

I'm not a ring guy. Never have been. I've been married for almost 19 years and have just lived with it. Lately, my wedding ring has been waking me up at night. I adjust it, go back to sleep, only to wake up a couple of hours later to adjust it again. I started taking it off when I went to bed and found I slept much better.

Just curious about the other Pelicans feel about their wedding band.

15 years this time!

I take it off at night and when I'm doing heavy work.

Forgot it Sunday on the way to church I asked my wife if I was worse than her?

Her being out with a single guy or me being out with a married woman. She said I was the bigger slut

Only comes off when working on the cars to avoid injuring myself. The ring has a nice rounded inside radius that makes it comfortable to wear. I'd lose it in no time if I'd take it off at night, for washing hands etc.

I used to sleep out 2 nights a month in hotels on biz. Watch, Pen, Wallet, keys, and wedding ring goes into the shoes at night.

Never have worn a ring. I don't even know where mine is now. Years ago when I worked in different jobs that wearing a ring wasn't safe, I just got out of the habit. Since I've always done lots of things that aren't ring friendly on a daily basis, I've actually never worn one of any kind. Unless I'm going out somewhere sort of nice, the watch I wear is a plastic Casio. Never worn anything around my neck either.

Never had one. To me it shows one of two things:

1. Wife doesn't trust him.

2. He has such an ego he feels he has to discourage hopeful females.

I told Cindy I can't stand anything around my fingers before we were married.
There was never another discussion.

No. Did it for the first couple of years. Lost it once but found it somewhere in the house during spring cleaning. Actually painting the living room.

My dad has never worn a ring, married for 50 years now.

I wore it for about a year, but never liked it so stopped. Still married for going on 24 years now, so I've done ok without it.

I wear nothing extraneous at all. No rings, no watch, no necklace, no hat, no glasses (sun or otherwise), no trinkets or decorations of any kind.

My wife wears hers maybe half the time. Doesn't bother me either way.

A wedding band is the biggest aphrodisiac there is...for women who aren't your wife.

Yep, what BlueSky said. I wear my ring every day, and it's shocking how often I get hit on by women who are wearing a wedding ring. Yesterday by a beautiful mid-30s temptress who made it clear she wanted to have sex *right now* but it just made me sad and I walked away. Whatever happened to loyalty and being faithful? No wonder the incidence of STDs is so high.

That must explain why I never get hit on.

I wore mine all the time till it got blown off my finger surfing in Tahiti. Raiatea is not a bad place to be wed to. :-)
Thats about the only kind of getting hit on I remember.

Cheers Richard

Mine comes out of its box on special occasions only. I don't wear it daily to keep it pristine.

I designed my wife's ring, and mine is styled similarly, and has a small diamond. I'm too rough with my hands to wear a ring and not have it look hideous after a short time.

A good friend recently shattered his wrist badly, and was really bummed they had to remove his ring for surgury- First time it has been off since their wedding.

Only wear it when going out for a special occasion. I never wear it at work, too many ways to lose a finger.

23 years - I wear it a couple times a year. To weddings, funerals and on my anniversary.

I often work with my hands and many plants I go into don't allow them.

A couple years ago we had a partial degloving by a wedding ring. The fellow was going down a fixed ladder, jumped off the next-to-last step and his ring caught on the rung. Stripped his finger inside out.

Yes. 41 years. It was important to my wife at the time, so I just did it.

Wear mine once in a while if we go out somewhere I have to get dressed up. Otherwise never wear it. My line of work any kind of jewlery is dangerous. If I had to take it off all the time I'd only end up losing it. The wife really dont care one way or another.

Only take it off when working on cars and such; I miss it if I forget to put it back on (been 20years now).

Wore my grandfathers ring on my wedding day over twenty years ago and never again. No jewelry for me except a $15 plastic Casio watch sometimes.
