The Plymouth Valiant

They stopped making them in 1976.

I saw this one today and had to snap a few pics.

What a beautiful design.....

The Valient/Dart could make a nice "Q" ship, with a small block and decent suspension. Use steelies and dogbowls and no-one would suspect you have a potent little hot rod. Especially if you kept grandpas vinyl roof!

I had a 68 Dodge Dart just out of high school. That car was way cool, painted up grabber orange with a black stripe over the trunck about the "GTS" model, but mine had a 318 crate motor with aluminum slot wheels and black interior.

I would love to find another one someday.

My family had an earlier one with the push button shift auto and the slant six. It could leap off the line when loaded up for launch. At least it seemed that way to a new driver. Good memories!

Exactly my first thought, that could be a fun little sleeper. I've seen a few that were mildly done up, they can be pretty good looking cars.

You see that front plate Richard?

I thought the color was way cool as well.....prime example.

Dude parked out in the middle of the lot too. This was at a bank/shopping center. He'll never end up in the D'bag parking thread...lol....

Edelbrok makes great little "power package" kits for the Mopar A block...

Yep, I saw the Hawaii plate right away, then looked at the background and thought that don't look like Hawaii. Whats up with that?
The hood is sure burned up but the rest of the paint looks pretty good. Nice simple looking car!
Good to see someone respecting the survivers.
Cheers Richard

Heres my '72 in its 'sleeper" stage. Worked 340, 727 trans, 410 rear. Only giveaway was the traction bars, and Thrush mufflers on it. Made some money with this car. Really missed it when i sold it.

This was around 1982. I worked in that Mobil station. My boss wasnt thrilled with all the tire marks all over the lot.

^ A wedge and a 410! Thin whitewalls and a vinyl top. Yeah, I bet you made a few bucks.
What the hell, did you live down the block from Springsteen and supply all that inspiration for his highway songs?

Had a lot of fun with that car. Lived in Staten island back then. We had one service road near the end of the Staten Island Expressway. Had a 1/4 mile laid out all painted up with a start and finish line with checkerd flags painted on the road. Only bad thing was the run off past the finish line was pretty short so you had to make sure you had good brakes! Every once in a while the cops would have the manhole covers turned upside down so before we made a run we had to run down and flip them over.

Later on, I put another motor in with a tunnel ram and dual 600 Holleys. I'll try to dig up some pictures tomorrow. I started building a 440 for it , but never got the chance to drop it in before i sold it.

That looks exactly like my uncle Ben's car! His had a slant-6 tho. I was too young to try that stunt back then.

My first car was a '61 valiant. 2 door, hard top, continental kit.
My mom had a '64 and later I had a '64 Dart ( 3 on the tree )

I wish I still had the car.
There is a '64 convertible with a 273 V8 here in town that interests me...

The Mopar A bodies always seemed to be the "right size". How about a Skyline type clone with a turbo slant six, flares, fat tires . . .

They have aged nicely.

My first car was a Plymouth Duster, slant 6, four speed manual. Car was that same shade of green. Funny, I still remember the license plates - oregon APY242. I mean it was my FIRST car!

I traded it in on a used Fiat...

I'm a dumbazz...

I kinda like this version:

I heard there were less than 40 made, and of those only 200 still exist.
