				Rolling Stones show tonight:

The Stones are playing at the Echoplex tonight in L.A. Tickets were $20 and the venue holds a few hundred people. This will be fun for the lucky ones who go, I have a couple friends who got tickets today at the El Ray theatre and are going.

And last night (Friday), Depeche Mode played at the Troubador. Maybe not a popular band amongst the typical Pelican crowd, but that would have been a pretty cool show, too.

Does it say something about their certificate not verified, do you want to continue? It always says that for LA Times website, I just ignore warning and continue. Hundreds of times, no problems. Not sure what is up with their "web certificate".

Dennis's link was for the secure side, https, seems the certificate is not configured correctly. A fairly common occurrence. Just whack off the https if you don't want to see the error. Rolling Stones book last-minute club gig in L.A. tonight - latimes.com

On a whim and as a treat, I took my son to see the Stones last night in Oakland:

![]() Great set! Tons of energy from the Band. Though the audience was like an AARP convention - I lowered the average age there. Tom Waits joined for Little Red Rooster and Mick Taylor for Midnight Rambler. Awesome! Set list and video of Little Red Rooster here I went thinking it was going to mainly be a trip down memory lane. First couple of songs were dicey. But then Mick got this energy burst after the Tom Waits duo and started strutting and running around like the last time I saw him 31 years ago...

Saw them in "81" also ....Santana opened for them and blew them away well worth the ticket just for them. But the stones very disappointing, I can only imagine what it will be like 32 years later. Great studio band I guess?

The first time was LA Forum First Show July 15, 1972, the Exile Tour ..3rd row Loge which is equivalnt to 3rd row but wrapped around the side a bit Seven bucks fifteen..

The Stones originally had 2 shows planned but due to popular demand added a 3rd and earlier show...tickets were sold by MAIL...I got very lucky, cause it was a great seat and a fantastic show when they was still realitivily young and mean. I saw them at the MGM Grand in 2006...$500 Nice but wouldn't do it again.

The show in SD was George Thoroughgood, J. Geils Band, and the Stone. J Geils put on an awesome show. When they were doing the stage change I was wondering how the Stones would follow them. Then they came out and opened with Street Fighting Man. It's the freakin' Stones. They slayed the entire stadium.

Ha - I saw the '82 Who tour as well. It was funny as I saw them in '80 at San Diego Sports Arena on a whim (I'd just gotten back in town from Santa Cruz) and they sucked. As in totally sucked - totally whacked out on drugs, disjointed, etc. In '82 I saw them at the San Diego Stadium (same as the Stones) and they were freakin' great. Eminence Front ftw.

That huge stage in a gigantic stadium - Mick controlled it like a puppeteer. At the Who, Clash were great, followed by Townsend windmilling - good times.
