I am moving forward on the 911S project, can anyone shed some light on this?

In the front, it's the 2 mounting points you see. The rear is more inboard.
I think you need to hire me. |

I'd attach at the bumper bracket holes in the front. Imagine a flat plane from there back to the rear of the car. You can attach at the rear at the motor mounts or the rear bumper mounts in the chassis. On a coupe this gives you a fairly well balanced mount. The Targa might be a little bottom heavy bit nothing extreme.

I used the bracket on the battery boxes for the front
and the engine mount bracket for the rear. Dont forget to add some bracing across the doors. I bolted a turnbuckle from the upper seat belt mounting hole in the targa bar, down to the cross brace under the dash. Not sure if your targa has the cross brace, but my 70 targa does. Spent months on the rot with no issues.

+1 on the bracing. Both hinge mounting point to the latch point is sufficient. Turn buckles or Heim joints. The thing is, measurements should be taken with the doors on. Actually, the measurements should be done with the fenders on and the car sitting on the ground with the motor in.
Having bracing inside the doors would be handy because you could adjust the bracing with the doors on.. But, if there is any work to be done to the rocker panels, the doors have to be off. |
