Big Game hunter
Did anyone see the documentary (sort of) about Richard Childress on SpeedTV.? In particular the segment from his big game room/trophy room?
I kinda thought big game hunting, "the big five", "the dangerous seven", was maybe from the Hemingway era and was a tad dated these days. Maybe it's just me, but it was kind of creepy, and somewhat sad. IMO He sure had a lot of beautiful animals stuffed in that room. |

Big game hunting in Africa is heavily regulated these days. On top of that it's really expensive. The big 5 animals, and many others, are closely managed in Africa on private preserves.
If I had the cash I'd hunt Africa in a heart beat but I don't. I do hunt here in the states and am questioned pretty regularly by my more left leaning friends. The White Tail Deer population in the US is greater than it was in the 1930s. Sad is a wild animal starving to death due to over population and competition for food.

This is really interesting. Many parts of it are just plain sad but as they state many times if it weren't for the money made by hunting and managing these animals many of them would likely be extinct by now.
