What amazes me is, someone or several die every year and they continue to do it.

As easy as that, Right. Glad to hear him mention the strobe affect, the patchy light at the first part of the track was totally disorienting for me.
Complete intimacy with the track, loved his commentary.

Good post, thanks

Valentino Rossi did a token ride through the full circuit a couple of years ago and in a post-ride interview was asked if he would consider competing in the IOM. He emphatically said it was too fast and too dangerous for his blood.

Respect. These guys push the boundaries of what is humanly possible more in one lap than most of us do in our entire lives.

Here's a really nice sequence of slow motion shots with some great music. Try to imagine wrestling a 350lb, 220HP rocket around that course without crashing. Amazing.

There are many other Irish "real roads" races during the season. I think it is cookstown that actually has higher top speeds. They big difference is most of them are scream and park layouts with relatively slow corners and WFO down the straights. The TT just flows speed for most of its distance.

One of the most amazing old school, grass roots motorsport events left.

Balls to the wall, nuckin futz- and full on amazing watch. I thik the closet thing on four wheels is tarmac rally and the Isle of Mann is do much more full on.
