Anyone want to be a billionaire?

Manufacture a machine that washes, then dries your clothes in the same box, without having to transfer back and forth between 2 machines. Sheesh, how difficult can that be?

That was solved in 2 minutes. :)

I believe some apartment units utilize that technology to save space.
Also, Europe and some island properties have these.

Gretch 05-30-2013 06:47 AM

first world problem..........

get a life.

It's been done for small machines used on boats and RV's. There's a 24" for the home or apt. I think there're bigger units as well.

Cool, wonder why they're not more prevalent? Must have some significant drawbacks...

VINMAN 05-30-2013 06:55 AM

if you just leave them in the washer, they will dry out eventually.....

Wonder if I can fit a motorbike in the space one of the boxes used to occupy...

cairns 05-30-2013 06:56 AM

They've had 'em in Europe and Oz for years. Never worked very well IMO though.

I had one in an efficiency / executive apartment. It was fantastic, but it was clear it was not something to be taxed. I would not do anything more than ~single change of clothes at a time. It is nice to come home to clean/dry clothes though. It's like magic!

My folks have one in their rv. Takes forever to dry. Generally things work better at doing one task well, rather than being a jack of all trades.

GH85Carrera 05-30-2013 07:26 AM

It must take forever to do much laundry. We get the dryer running the second the washer is done, and put in a second load in the washer. With just two of us we generate several loads of laundry a week. I wear shorts and a t-shirt 95% of the time in the summer. I guess if you were a single person and kept up with laundry it could work.

Now if it would fold everything neatly and arrange them in separate piles...

GH85Carrera 05-30-2013 07:33 AM

That is what a wife is for! ;)

Eric 951 05-30-2013 07:48 AM

I thought this was going to be a post about gererators.....

G60SuperCharger 05-30-2013 07:54 AM

They are more popular in Europe, but from what I've heard they are not very durable. The old fashioned American style separate machines will last 20 years. The LG ones have a 1 year warranty and NOBODY will sell you an extended on them.

I agree with Motion...there's gotta be a better way to make this work.

Jim Richards 05-30-2013 07:59 AM

I would like to be a billionaire. Just sayin'.
